International flights to Saudi Arabia

If you are flying to The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, you are kindly requested by health authorities in Saudi Arabia to follow health guidance below.

 

  • Submission of a negative result of PCR test or Rapid Antigen tests for the Corona Virus before departing to the Kingdom are no longer required.
  • Holders of all types of Visit Visas are required to have insurance to cover the costs of Corona Virus infection treatment during their stay in the Kingdom.

 

Travel Suspension Procedures:

  • Suspension of travel for Saudi Citizens to the following countries :

(Libya, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Iran, Armenia, Somalia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Venezuela, Belarus) and any country where the pandemic remains unstable.

  • The transport of Saudi Citizens on international flights is allowed to the permitted countries provided that they receive the booster dose of the (Covid-19) vaccine for those who spent eight months from the time of receiving the second dose, with the exception of age groups less than (16) years old or groups excluded according to what appears in the application (Tawakkalna). The following categories of guests are excluded from the requirement to submit proof of vaccination:
    • Children under the age of (12) twelve years provided that they obtain a valid health insurance policy approved by the Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) to cover the risks of COVID-19.
    • Individuals whose status in Tawakkalna appear (Exempted) from COVID-19 vaccine, are to be treated equally as those whose status in Tawakkalna appear as IMMUNE.
  • Travelling with ID has been suspended for GCC citizens.

General Requirements:

  • All guests intending to visit the Kingdom (excluding Saudi Citizens, Residents and GCC Citizens) must have medical insurance that covers the costs of COVID-19 treatment.

  

Starting from 1 May 2022

  • No PCR or certification of vaccination are required to enter Albania
  • Visa exemption for Saudis is extended till 31 December 2022. 

Starting from April 15, 2022, the requirement of submission of a document confirming the negative result of the PCR test for COVID-19 to enter the Republic of Azerbaijan is canceled.

During domestic flights, passengers shall not be required to provide a document confirming a negative result of the PCR test for COVID-19

Citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Turkey and citizens of other countries permanently residing in these countries, as well as stateless persons (except for persons under the age of 18 based on COVID-19 passport) provide a document confirming full vaccination against COVID-19 or immunity after recovery from COVID-19)

No need document confirming a negative PCR test result for COVID-19 is required from passengers traveling on a bus route

  • Unvaccinated travelers from Saudi Arabia must have a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test result. The test must be taken a maximum of 72 hours before arrival in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The test result may be presented in printed or electronic form.
  • Details and exemptions
  • This requirement does not apply to:
    • Fully vaccinated travelers who received their last dose at least 14 days before travel;
    • Travelers with a COVID-19 recovery certificate issued at least 14 days and at most 180 days before arrival;
    • Travelers under the age of 7 accompanied by a parent or guardian, who has a negative COVID-19 PCR test or rapid antigen test, or confirmation of vaccination or confirmation of recovery from COVID-19;
    • Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina and their minor children and spouses;
    • Permanent or temporary residents returning in a maximum of 48 hours after traveling to Montenegro, Croatia, or Serbia;
    • Citizens of Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro and their spouses and children who travel directly from these countries;
    • Travelers in transit to their country of residence.

Passengers travelling to Egypt with a vaccination certificate:

Passengers arriving with vaccination certificates from countries not affected by mutated strains of Coronavirus, directly or indirectly, during the previous 14 days, the following procedure is applied:

  • Reviewing the vaccination certificate in the passenger’s possession and accepting the certificates approved in the country (issuing authority) without abrasion, striking out or adding and containing a valid QR code to accept the certificates after checking with the issuing authority.
  • Approval of vaccines that have been approved by the World Health Organization and the Egyptian Medicines Authority, the vaccination certificate is considered valid in Egypt after 14 days of receiving the second dose of (Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm, Sinovac, or Sputnik) or after 14 days of receiving the first dose of Johnson & Johnson.

Passengers arriving with vaccination certificates from countries affected by mutated strains of Coronavirus (India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Brazil, and Latin America) directly or indirectly during the previous 14 days, the following procedure is applied:

  • Reviewing the vaccination certificate in the passenger’s possession and accepting the certificates approved in the country (issuing authority) without abrasion, striking out or adding and containing a valid QR code to accept the certificates after checking with the issuing authority.
  • All passengers must take ID NOW COVID test, and in case the result is positive, a PCR test is requested at the arrival airport, and if the PCR test result is positive, the passenger must be transferred to the hospital and the relevant protocol must be applied.
  • Passengers travelling to Egypt without vaccination certificates:
    • All passengers, including Egyptian nationals, will need to carry a printed negative COVID 19 PCR test certificate from an accredited lab in English or Arabic for a test taken within 72 hours of flight's departure time. Children under 6 years old and transit passengers are exempted from the negative COVID 19 PCR test certificate requirement.

PCR test certificate must fulfill the following conditions:

  • Passengers flying from KSA to Egypt should conduct the PCR test from one of the approved laboratories only.
  • The certificate must be stamped by the laboratory, hospital or including a QR code “instead of the stamp” and must include the following information:
    • The date and time the sample was taken
    • Details of the type of sample taken for the swab
    • Indicating that the type of test is (RT - PCR).
    • Certificate is accepted in Arabic or English language.
  • Required Documents:
    • Passengers are required to complete a declaration form available to download in English and Arabic.
  • Restrictions for Sharm El Sheikh & Hurghada
    • International Passengers (who are travelling directly) to (Sharm El Sheikh & Hurghada) airports who failed to submit a valid PCR test (72 hours before flight departure time), shall undergo the PCR test upon arrival to those airports with charge of 30 USD.
    • Those passengers will be isolated in their hotels till the PCR test result is received and In case the PCR is positive, passenger will be self-isolated in his / her room at the hotel and to coordinate with the Egyptian Ministry of health.
  • Required Forms
  • Please be advised that it is obligatory to complete a special application form detailing your travel history from the last two weeks (14 days) before entering Georgia.
  • Residents returning to Georgia
  • Georgia residents returning home will need to have the following documents:
    • Valid passport
    • Negative PCR / COVID test results
  • Tourists travelling to Georgia
  • Tourists must be in possession of the following travel documents:
    • Valid passport and visa
    • Pre-registration form (completed)
    • A negative PCR / COVID test issued 72 hours prior to travel, or a document proving fully vaccination status.
  • Quarantine
  • There is currently no quarantine period with the exception of those who have travelled visited and travelled to India in the past 14 days. These visitors, regardless of nationality, will be required to undergo a mandatory quarantine period of 14 days. Georgian nationals who are unable to produce a valid PCR test at the border will be required to self-isolate for a period of eight days.
  • Exemptions
  • Representatives of diplomatic missions and international organisations, family members of Georgian citizens, train and truck drivers involved in the transport of goods, and people who are part of a recognised humanitarian mission are exempt from the travel restrictions.
  • On Arrival
  • Please keep the following safety precautions in mind: all citizens and foreign travellers are required to wear a face mask when entering a public space. There is a national curfew from 22h00-05h00 (except for emergencies). Restaurants are open for service but will remain closed on the weekends, while delivery and drive-through services are fully operational throughout the week.
  • Prohibited medicines:
  • All passengers must follow the instructions of Georgia airports customs shown on Its website about some medicines that are prohibited for a passenger to carry except with a verified translated prescription, including:
    • Panadol Extra
    • Fevadol Plus
  • Knowing that the violating passengers will be referred to investigation and then to the Public Prosecution to issue a fine of no less than (10,000 Georgian Lari), equivalent to (3,086 US dollars), or imprisonment for a period ranging from 3 to 5 years.
  • Georgian fully vaccinated passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia must have a verified Covid-19 vaccination form “Georgian and English” that includes “QR” code.

All Guests required to upload a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report conducted within 72 hrs prior to undertaking the journey or certificate of completing full primary vaccination schedule of COVID-19 vaccination.

 

Mandatory requirements:

All passengers, including children and infants, must submit a self‑declaration form (SDF) under the Air Suvidha section on the online portal before the scheduled departure with complete contact details and address. Passengers will receive an approval code that must be presented at the time of departure.

  • All passengers must carry a printed copy of the self-declaration form (SDF) at the time of departure,
  • All vaccinated passengers must upload their vaccination certificate (full/partial vaccination) on the Air Suvidha online portal. Passengers must also carry a printed copy of the vaccination certificate.
  • All passengers must download the Aarogya setu app on their mobile devices.
  • Children under 5 years of age are exempted from both pre- and post-arrival testing. However, if found symptomatic for COVID-19 on arrival or during home quarantine period, they shall undergo testing and treated as per laid down protocol.
  • All passengers must carry a hard copy of Covid-19 vaccination certificate of having completed the primary vaccination schedule or negative COVID 19 RT‑PCR test certificate at the time of departure.

  • All passengers travelling to Jordan are required to visit: https://www.visitjordan.gov.jo portal prior to departure, complete the required form, and obtain the QR code which is mandatory to be presented to airline personnel prior to boarding and upon arrival.

    Exemptions:

    • Jordanian passengers and their families, wives and children regardless of their nationality.
    • transit passengers.
    • Diplomatic QR holders (diplomats and employees of regional and international organizations and their dependents and family members holding diplomatic passports, special passports, or regular passports) have a permanent diplomatic QR code that its validity does not expire, and it is possible to return with this code to Jordan for several trips. 

Starting from 1 May 2022

All health travel procedures and requirements related to the Corona virus pandemic will be cancelled. Normal procedures were applied prior to the pandemic will be implemented.

  • Fully vaccinated travelers aged 18 years and older are allowed to enter Pakistan, travelers must have a vaccination certificate showing that they were fully vaccinated at least 14 days before departure to Pakistan.
  • All passengers traveling to Pakistan are required to download and install the PASS TRACK app from Apple Store or Google Play and enter their personal details as appropriate. Those without Apple/Android phones may enter their details on the web portal at click here and are required to provide a paper print of the same prior to obtaining the boarding pass at the airport of departure.
  • The following passengers are exempt from the PASS Track requirement yet are required to submit a complete Health Declaration Form at the airport of arrival in Pakistan:
    • Passengers below 12 years of age
    • Passengers with disabilities
    • High level international delegations

 

All Diplomats, Diplomatic Staff and their families will be required to:

  • Possess a valid negative PCR test result conducted within the 72 hours prior to commencement of travel to Pakistan
  • Preferably possess a COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate / Proof of Vaccination.

However, passengers not holding the said certificates will be subjected to Rapid Antigen Testing upon arrival in Pakistan whereby negative testing passengers will be exempted from Mandatory Home Quarantine and any positive testing passengers will be subjected to mandatory Home Quarantine.

Passengers holding valid vaccination certificates / proof of vaccinate on may also choose Rapid Antigen Testing upon arrival Pakistan and will be dealt with in the aforesaid form and manner.

Passengers under reference not choosing to undergo Rapid Antigen Testing upon arrival in Pakistan will be subjected to mandatory Home Quarantine with PCR Tests conducted on 2nd and 8th day of such Home Quarantine

All travelers, including citizens of the Republic of Sudan and foreigners of Sudanese origin, who are traveling to Sudan, must present a negative COVID 19 PCR test certificate valid within 72 hours prior to their scheduled arrival time at any airport in the Republic of Sudan. The test result must have a QR code from the issuing laboratory.

  • Children below 8 years old are not required to take a COVID 19 PCR test before departure.
  • Accept all PCR test result issued by one of the approved ministry of health applications via App or SMS ”please carry a Iqama copy for verification reason”.

Entry By Foreigner

Regardless of their vaccination status, foreigners are allowed to enter. 

Entry By Resident

  • Citizens and residents are allowed to enter the country. 

Test Certificate Required

  • Unvaccinated travelers must present negative results from a PCR test performed within 72 hours before departure or an antigen test performed within 48 hours before departure.
  • Passengers who submit a document issued by the relevant country’s official authorities stating that they have had the virus within the last 6 months. The 6-month period starts from the 28th day of the first positive PCR test result, PCR test and Quarantine measures will not be applied.
  • The following travelers are exempt:
    • Children under the age of 12 years,
    • Fully vaccinated travelers.
    • Transit and transfer passengers are not required to do PCR negative test prior their arrival, final destination entry rules apply.
    • Merchant seamen.
    • Those recovered from a COVID-19 infection within the last 6 months,
  • The vaccination certificates of Serbia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Iraq, Libya, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam and Egypt are accepted by the Republic of Turkey for passengers who will enter Turkey with a vaccination certificate.
  • All passengers travelling to United Arab Emirates must comply with the following:
    • Present a valid vaccination certificate(s) that reflects the completion of doses of vaccine approved by the WHO or the United Arab Emirates (UAE), provided with QR code System; or
    • Present a VALID Negative Covid-19 Test certificate that should be based on a molecular diagnostic test intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid for SARS-COV-2 viral RNA, that is issued within the valid time frame, namely, (48) hours from the time of collecting the sample and from an approved health service provider, which use QR code System; or
    • Present a valid medical certificate issued by the relevant authorities that the passenger has recovered from Coronavirus SARS Cov-19 within a period of one (1) month (the date of recovery and the date of arrival) provided with QR code System, and
    • Undergo a PCR test upon arrival in Dubai, if requested, and self-quarantine until a negative test result is released to the passenger. In the event the passenger is tested positive, then such passenger shall follow the guidelines issued by the relevant Health Authority in the Emirate of Dubai.
  • Note - the certificates referred to previously shall be Printed in English or Arabic language and provided with a QR Code.
  • For Transit Passengers, the rules and conditions governing entry at the final destination of the transit passengers shall be applicable.

All travelers entering Austria must show any one of these three documents:

  • Vaccine Certificate
    • The following vaccines (including mix-and-match vaccines) are recognized: BioNtech/Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, and Sinopharm. (Please be aware that this only applies to entering the country. Sinopharm is not valid for entering hotels, restaurants etc. within Austria.) You are considered "vaccinated" starting on the 22nd day after your first dose, lasting for 3 months from the vaccination date. After the second dose, the validity extends for another 6 months (the vaccination is then valid for 9 months total from the first vaccination date). Vaccines that only require one dose are valid from the 22nd day after that dose and for 9 months from the vaccination date. This also applies to people who have had
  • Negative COVID Test
    • You need to show a PCR test no older than 72 hours OR an antigen test no older than 48 hours. (For travelers from certain countries, only PCR tests are valid, please see below.) Tests need to be issued by a medical authority; self-tests are not valid. Children under 10 do not need to show a test.
    • COVID before and received only one dose of any vaccine.
  • Proof of Past Infection
    • You can enter Austria for 6 months after a SARS-CoV-2 infection. Proof of antibodies is valid for 3 months from the test date.
  • Vaccine Certificate
    • The following vaccines (including mix-and-match vaccines) are recognized: BioNtech/Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Moderna, and Sinopharm. (Please be aware that this only applies to entering the country. Sinopharm is not valid for entering hotels, restaurants etc. within Austria.) You are considered "vaccinated" starting on the 22nd day after your first dose, lasting for 3 months from the vaccination date. After the second dose, the validity extends for another 6 months (the vaccination is then valid for 9 months total from the first vaccination date).
