In a special ceremony for “Makkah Road” initiative at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah, flynas, the national Saudi carrier and leading low-cost airline in the Middle East, received the first flight of Malaysian pilgrims who completed their entry procedures from Kuala Lampur International Airport,Malaysia through the “Makkah Road” initiative, which served 500 pilgrims.

The flight was received by the initiative’s Supervisory Committee members headed by the team leader, Major General Suleiman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Yahya, while pilgrims were welcomed with gifts and sweets.

The “Makkah Road” initiative, is one of the initiatives being implemented under the National Transformation Program (2020), and aims to realize the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 in order to improve the pilgrims’ services, facilitate their travel procedures and help them perform Hajj with ease and comfort. These objectives are carried out by an integrated Saudi team headed by the Ministry of Interior with the participation of the Ministry of Hajj, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Health, General Authority of Civil Aviation, Customs and National Information Centre.

The initiative includes issuance of visas, completion of passports and customs procedures, verification of health requirements, as well as baggage screening and sorting in accordance with the transport and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom. These measures enable pilgrims to pass such procedures upon arrival to the Kingdom, allowing them to head directly to the buses, which will take them to their place of residence in Makkah and Madinah. The service providers receive the luggage of the pilgrims, who are beneficiaries of the initiative, and deliver them to their place of residence safely and efficiently.

It is worth mentioning that flynas is the only national carrier of pilgrims from Malaysia.
